Race 1
Double FIA European Truck Racing Championship title-winner, Norbert Kiss, came out on top of a drama-filled race one at Circuit Zolder on Saturday afternoon.

Kiss, in his Team Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz truck, was eclipsed to pole position by championship leader Adam Lacko, but the Hungarian didn’t even consider coming out second best in the race.

As the event got under way, it initially seemed that Kiss was under threat from third-placed Jochen Hahn in his Team Hahn Racing Iveco, but the Hungarian found himself on the inside going into Turn 2 and took the lead.

Things quickly went from bad to worse for the Championship-leading Buggyra International Racing System driver as technical issues in his Freightliner truck forced him to retire with a third of the distance completed.

Race 2 
Young German truck racer, Andre Kursim, took a memorable first FIA European Truck Racing Championship win of his career in race two.

The 25-year old, who started third in the semi-reversed grid race, lead home team-mate and race one winner Norbert Kiss, to complete a one-two finish for Team Tankpool24 Racing.

Antonio Albacete, starting fifth, pressurised Kursim for the lead for most of the race, but eventually lost out to Kiss in the closing stages as the pair went through Turns 2 and 3. Albacete eventually settled for third in his Truck Sport Lutz Bernau MAN entry.

Jochen Hahn, driving his Team Hahn Racing Iveco, finished best of the rest in fourth position, having recorded a three-place progression following his start from seventh on the grid.

Adam Lacko, who’s suffered a gearbox issue in race one, had a strong race and was the driver who gained most during the race The Czech ace started from the very back of the pack and made it all the way up to fifth place.

Lacko now has a 44-point lead with 10 races remaining in the 2017 campaign.
