In 2018 Ho-Pin Tung stood on the top step of the LMP2 podium at the end of the 6 Hours of Shanghai alongside teammates Stephane Richelmi and Gabriel Aubry. The trio of drivers had won the race in China for team boss Jackie Chan and the Chinese enjoyed the home win for their team.

The no8 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050-Hybrid, with Kazuki Nakajima and Brendon Hartley, was the fastest car in qualifying and will start at the head of the grid for tomorrow’s 6 Hours of Fuji, Round 2 of the 2019/20 FIA World Endurance Championship. The average lap time was 1m25.013, 0.790 seconds ahead of their teammates Jose Maria Lopez and Kamui Kobayashi in the no7 Toyota in the red flag interrupted session.

The no8 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050-Hybrid finished the third and final Free Practice ahead of the 30 car field with Brendon Hartley posting the fastest time of the weekend so far. The New Zealander set a 1m25.621, just two thousandths faster than Kazuki Nakajima’s best time at the end of the first day at Fuji Speedway.

The no8 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050-Hybrid topped the second and final Free Practice session of the opening day at Fuji Speedway in Japan. Kazuki Nakajima posted the best time of the day, a 1m25.623, 1.419s ahead of the no1 Rebellion Racing R13-Gibson of Norman Nato, with the no5 Team LNT Ginetta a further half second behind with Egor Orudzhev’s 1m27.602 lap.

The FIA World Endurance Championship is in Japan preparing for Round 2 of the 2019/20 season, the 6 Hours of Fuji. Thursday is the traditional set up day ahead of Free Practice, which begins at 11h00 on Friday, but there was still plenty going on in the Land of the Rising Sun.
