  • The FIA Region II finalists presented their projects at the FIA’s annual Region II Roundtable

  • The FIA Innovation Challenge was launched in 2024 and aims to celebrate innovative or creative business activities within the FIA’s Mobility Club community

Three Mobility Clubs were recognised as Innovation Challenge finalists at the Region II Roundtable in Cebu, the Philippines this week.

The FIA Innovation Challenge was launched this year and strives to support the FIA’s continued efforts around knowledge sharing, collaboration and innovation by celebrating innovative business and marketing-related projects from across the FIA’s Member Clubs.

A global shortlist was created in July through a judging panel. Three finalists were selected for each of the four FIA Mobility Regions.

The FIA Region II finalists were invited to present and share their projects during the Roundtable:

  • Australian Automobile Association (AAA) for their ‘Real World Testing Program’, an independent fuel consumption and emissions testing programme

  • Federation of Indian Automobile Associations (FIAA) for their ‘Outreach for Impact’ programme, a fresh approach to club policy outreach, leveraging non-traditional distribution channels

  • Royal Automobile Association of South Australia (RAA) for their ‘Exoskeleton Pilot’ which aims to power productivity and safety using wearable tech.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem closed the session. He said: “I am pleased to see the quality and creativity of the projects shared today. The FIA Innovation Challenge represents an important part of our commitment to empower Clubs and Regions and provide them with an opportunity to showcase the excellent work they do across sport and mobility. I look forward to seeing the winners named in Kigali.”

The four winners (one per FIA Mobility Region) will be announced in October and awarded in December during the FIA Annual General Assemblies week in Kigali, Rwanda.
