Strengthening Road Safety Capacity: Second Safe Mobility 4 All and 4 Life Training held in Marrakech

03.03.25

The FIA’s week of impactful discussions and commitments at the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety concluded with the second training of the FIA Safe Mobility 4 All and 4 Life programme — developed in partnership with UNITAR and the FIA Foundation.

This training brought together 30 delegates from 13 FIA Regions III and IV Clubs, as well as representatives from local authorities to build capacity and initiate local-level implementation projects, ensuring that road safety commitments translate into tangible action.

Key focus areas of the training included:

  • The role of cross-sector partnerships in reducing road crashes, with discussions on specific case studies.

  • Workshops to design the practical steps for the implementation of local projects, based on shared best practices.

  • Insights from the Global Road Safety Report and their relevance to Latin America and the Caribbean.

The training featured a remarkable lineup of speakers, including FIA Senate President Carmelo Sanz de Barros, UNITAR Division Director Alex Mejia, Programme Director at the Institute for Transportation & Development Policy Gonzalo Peon Carballo, Global Director of Corporate Affairs at AB InBev Catalina Garcia, and Executive Director at Together for Safer Roads Peter Goldwasser.

Participating Clubs will now continue their training through the programme’s global e-learning platform. They are also encouraged to advance the development of local projects, with the support and mentorship of recognised international road safety experts.

The Safe Mobility 4 All and 4 Life initiative will expand to additional FIA Mobility Regions in 2025, advancing its mission to improve road safety outcomes on a global scale.
