In the first national phase, which took place in mid-June, more than 500 boys and girls aged between 18 and 26 participated in the theoretical phase of the contest, based on an online test with various questions related to traffic regulation, mechanics, mobility, road safety, and driving techniques.

The best 25 boys and 25 girls attended the second national phase at the Madrid racetrack and participated in the various practical tests that were developed for this contest. Throughout the morning, monitors of the RACE Driving School supervised the various tests of reflexes and skills at the wheel. The five best boys and girls out of these tests went to the National Final that was disputed in the afternoon.

Finally, Rebeca Mendoza Ferrer and Isaac Pérez Mora were proclaimed as the Best Young Drivers of Spain 2022. They will represent the country in the European competition "FIA Region I Best Young Driver", which will be held next October, also at the Circuito de Madrid Jarama – RACE, with the support of the FIA Road Safety Grants Programme.
