TACP Drives Grassroots Growth with Motorsport Festival in Peru

The Touring y Automóvil Club del Perú (TACP) kicked off 2025 with a successful Motorsport Festival at Kartódromo de Asia in Lima, offering five accessible racing activities to engage fans and promote grassroots participation. In line with the FIA’s commitment to inclusion, affordability, and growing global participation, TACP ensured low-cost or free entry for several activities, encouraging broader community involvement.

The event featured a Rental Karting Championship, an Esports Championship, and a Kart Slalom Championship as the main competitions. Additionally, the final round of TACP’s FIA Kart Slalom Program 2024 welcomed over 50 school students for free participation. A Classic Cars Exhibition and FIA Racing Cars showcase completed the program, creating an immersive motorsport experience.

More than 100 competitors took part across disciplines, with over 500 attendees enjoying the festival. Top three finishers in each championship were awarded FIA Motorsport in a Box trophies, recognising their efforts and encouraging further development in both real and virtual racing.

The TACP Motorsport Commission organised the festival layout, featuring an Esports Zone with six simulators running an iRacing virtual F4 Championship. Officially trained ASN volunteers supported on-track operations, while notable FIA racing cars—such as Eduardo Castro’s Rally3 car and the Heilbrunn brothers’ FIA Cross Car—were on display.

Prominent Peruvian drivers, including Matías Zagazeta, Daniella Oré, Mariano López, and Cristóbal Bonnett, attended to engage with fans, share insights, and take part in karting and sim racing activities.

This was TACP Motorsport Commission’s largest motorsport event to date, demonstrating a strong commitment to accessibility and community engagement. Following its success, the Club looks forward to organising more initiatives to develop motorsport in Peru.
