IAMF Nurtures Young Motorsport Talent in Sulaimaniyah
The Iraq Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (IAMF) continues to foster the future of motorsport by providing young drivers with opportunities to develop their skills and compete at a national level. The Iraqi Junior Championship for Cars – Karting Category, held at the Supersat Circuit in Sulaimaniyah, brought together rising talents from across the country, highlighting IAMF’s dedication to grassroots racing and youth development.

The final rounds of the championship saw 25 young competitors representing Clubs, academies, and teams affiliated with IAMF. The event was attended by Dr. Harda Raouf Param and Ms. Leila Muhammad Amin from the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, emphasising the championship’s significance in Iraq’s motorsport landscape.
IAMF President Mr. Raed Albayati praised the competitors for their discipline, skill, and sportsmanship, noting their adherence to competition rules and their impressive performances throughout the event.
“Through initiatives like this championship”, he said, “IAMF is creating a clear pathway for young drivers to progress in motorsport, equipping them with experience and exposure to competitive racing.”
Spectators enjoyed eight hours of intense racing, with thrilling battles on the track keeping fans engaged.
