INTERESTING FACTS

The Norisring is a street circuit located just outside of the city centre of Nuremberg. Since 1947 motor racing events, first motorcycle races, later also car racing events, were held on the track at the ‘Zeppelinfeld’. It is the only remaining street circuit in Germany and is often called the Franconian Monaco. The circuit is just 2.3 kilometres long and with this constitutes the shortest circuit on the 2016 FIA Formula 3 European Championship calendar.

Despite the short length of the track, exciting racing can still be expected. Especially the ‘Grundig-Kehre’, a 360° hairpin, which is the first corner after the long start-finish straight guarantees spectacular manoeuvres. The layout of the track also allows spectators to see nearly the entire track from the 350 metres long iconic stone grandstand, called ‘Steintribüne’. All this adds to the fantastic atmosphere and is the reason for more than 100,000 spectators to come to the track every year.
