Caribbean ASNs Unite to Launch Drag Racing Championship, Marking a New Era for Regional Motorsport

17.02.25

The Caribbean’s motorsport landscape is set for a major transformation with the launch of the Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC), an invitation-only series uniting top drag racers from Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica. Spearheaded by the Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club (JMMC) in collaboration with the Barbados Motoring Federation (BMF), the Barbados Association of Dragsters and Drifters (BADD), the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMRSC), and the Trinidad and Tobago Automobile Sports Association (TTASA), this initiative strengthens the region’s motorsport structure and provides a premier platform for high-level competition.

Registered on the FIA’s National Calendar, the championship will feature 16 events across participating nations throughout 2025, culminating in the CDRC Championship Final in Jamaica in January 2026.

A Championship Format That Rewards Excellence

The CDRC introduces an innovative points-based system, ensuring fair and competitive racing. Participants earn points by competing in three of their respective national events, with the top 16 racers in each class across all participating countries qualifying for the final showdown. The championship features two competitive categories:

  • Pro Street (10.999 to 10.000 seconds)
  • Pro Race (9.999 to 9.000 seconds)

Winners will receive trophies and prize money, with additional winnings awarded to the champion’s National Sporting Authority (ASN), reinforcing the role of Clubs in supporting motorsport development.

Uniting the Caribbean Motorsport Community

The launch of the CDRC has been met with strong support from key figures across the Caribbean motorsport community:
