FIA Member Touring y Automóvil Club Paraguayo (TACPy), in collaboration with Petrobras and the Chamber of Automotive and Machinery Dealers (CADAM), has unveiled the 2023 edition of the "Responsible Youth Behind the Wheel" project.

The FIA Road Safety Index is a new index aiming to increase companies and organisations’ insights on the impact of their operations on road safety and to help them report on their ambitions, actions, and results. With the FIA Road Safety Index, organisations and companies can measure their safety footprint just like they do for their carbon footprint (total greenhouse gas emissions). The safety footprint can then be used as a basis for setting goals and formulating strategies and as a clear key figure to include in their sustainability report.

This year, 215 Club Delegates from Europe, Africa and the Middle East gathered in Strasbourg, France, for the FIA Region I Spring Meeting at the kind invitation of Mobilité Club France and the Automobile Club de France from 30 May to 1 June.

At the 2023 edition of the International Transport Forum (ITF) Summit focused on “transport enabling sustainable economies”, the FIA advocated for a sustainable mobility transition that leaves no one behind and takes into account the wide array of users’ needs.

FIA Member the Automóvil Club Guatemala together with the Guatemalan American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham Guatemala) and the Fundación para el Desarrollo de Guatemala (Fundesa) organised the Third International Congress of Road Safety in Guatemala that aimed to look at data and promote action to improve road safety in the country. FIA Region IV was represented among the speakers of the event.

The FIA Smart Driving Challenge is a global challenge that encourages everyday motorists to adopt smarter, cleaner, and safer driving behaviour. A collaboration between FIA and Greater Than, the FIA Smart Driving Challenge analyses real-time driving behaviour using Greater Than’s pattern AI technology. Participants in the 2022 Season achieved an average CO2 saving of 12.3% vs the global average.*

The first 2023 meeting of the World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism (WCAMT) was the occasion to discuss the rollout of ambitious projects to promote safe and sustainable mobility, plans to better empower the regions and support the Clubs, as well as a joint initiative to preserve and protect the automobile heritage.

Twenty-nine FIA Club Delegates attended the inaugural FIA Region II Ideas Forum in Bangkok, Thailand on 24 March to discuss the results of the Capability Building Scoping Study, conducted by the region and to work on commercial collaboration opportunities.

On 22 March, FIA Region I and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) co-organised a dialogue on used vehicle trade between representatives of importing and exporting countries.
