2017 FIA Mobility Conference in Tokyo attracts record number of delegates

The 2017 FIA Mobility Conference took place from 25 to 29 September in Tokyo, Japan, gathering more than 200 delegates from 84 countries for a week of sessions and social events.

The Conference organised with the support of the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF), brought a record number of delegates together to discuss the theme of “Relevance for Members”.

Through keynote sessions, panel discussions, and workshops, attendees debated and shared best practices on membership, innovation, and collaboration. With close to 20 Club speakers, the week’s events where met with a high-level of participant engagement.

The social events capping off each day took delegates to the FUJI TV Headquarters as well as the famous Happo-en gardens where they were treated to a demonstration of traditional Japanese dancing.

The Conference’s closing afternoon saw Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike address a special message to FIA Clubs, revealing the capital city’s plans with regard to mobility in light of the 2020 Olympic Games it will be hosting.
