Jarama was Brereton’s second weekend of the year where he took a clean sweep of GRAMMER TRUCK CUP victories, having previously achieved it during round two of the season held at the Nürburgring. The British racer clinched an impressive 19 class victories out of 32 races over the course of his impressive campaign.

With pressure off his shoulders after sealing the title at Le Mans, Brereton switched to competing for overall glory and indeed the TOR Truck Racing driver had a sniff of the win in both the second fourth races at Jarama.

Ultimately he finished second and record an overall podium.

With the GRAMMER TRUCK CUP decided at Le Mans, all eyes were on the Steffen Faas vs Oly Janes battle for second overall.

Following a solid streak of results, Oly Janes kept closing on Steffen Faas over the course of the last couple of race weekends. Coming into Jarama, the Buggyra International Racing System driver was only seven points behind his rival who drives for Team Tankpool24 Racing.

Following a character building weekend at Le Mans, Faas managed to record a total of two second places, a third and a fifth. That turned out to be just enough to keep Janes at bay and secure second overall.

Despite outscoring Faas for the fourth consecutive weekend in a row, Janes finished the year six points down on him in third.

Terry Gibbon in a T Sport MAN highlighted his weekend with a third place scored in Race 3 with his T Sport MAN.

Veteran racer Eduardo Rodrigues’s best was a fourth place finish in Race 1 as the Portuguese veteran bowed out of racing after announcing his retirement at the annual FIA ETRC awards on Sunday evening.

Ray Coleman (LRS/MAN) and Erwin Kleinnagelvoort (EK Truck Race/Scania) finished all four races and record a best finish of fifth. The pair battled gamely in three of the four races enjoying a boisterous scrap throughout.

Jamie Anderson aboard his Anderson Racing MAN experienced a mixed weekend. He started off with being innocently involved in the opening-lap pile up in Race 1 and finishing the weekend with a second place in Race 4.

Local racer Luis Recuenco (Truck Sport Lutz Bernau/MAN), also retired after being caught up in the same crash that ended Anderson’s race.

Frans Smit, making his second appearance of the year after Misano, in his Scania scored points in all four races, with ninth places in Races 2 and 4 being his best effort.

Frankie Vojtisek experienced a disastrous weekend. The Czech was another driver whose Race 1 came to an end on the opening lap. His Czech Truck Racing Team spent a night rebuilding his MAN just for the driver not being cleared to race on medical grounds.

Local racers, Jose Alberto Vila Sainz and Pedro Ignacio Garcia Marco, who bolstered the field at Jarama both recorded a single top ten finish in the GRAMMER TRUCK CUP, with Vila Sainz scorning the best “local” result, finishing seventh in Race 1.
