World’s only FIA-sanctioned drifting event returns to Japan for its third edition

Transcript of the pre-event Press Conference organised by the FIA for the 2019 Rally Mexico.

Hosted by FIA President Jean Todt and FIA Deputy President for Sport, Graham Stoker, the World Motor Sport Council gathered today in Geneva for its first meeting of 2019.

The 27 finalists from the FIA’s European Young Women Programme - the Girls on Track Karting Challenge - have now convened at Le Mans and are poised for an exciting weekend of on and off track activities that could well kick-start a career in motor sport.

The 2019 championship will feature nine events in six European countries. Some are well established events on the EHSRC calendar, with one, the Rallye Weiz in Austria making its debut on the schedule.

On the 18th March 2012 the FIA World Endurance Championship held the inaugural race at Sebring International Raceway in Florida with Allan McNish, Dindo Capello and Tom Kristensen crossing the line at the end of the 12 hours of racing to become the first winners in the new era of the WEC.
