Today, FIA President Jean Todt, who also serves as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, met with Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris and President of the C40 to discuss road safety issues.

Anne Hidalgo is a member of the FIA High Level Panel for Road Safety, a panel launched in November 2015, gathering an unprecedented coalition of leaders from the global business community, international institutions and NGOs in order to raise awareness and collect fundings for road safety actions, especially in low- and middle-income countries. Recently, the Panel has been instrumental in calling for the establishment of a UN Road Safety Trust Fund, which received the support of the UN Secretary-General. Anne Hidalgo is also a #3500LIVES campaign ambassador urging goverments to make road safety a priority.

President Todt and Mayor Hidalgo had the opportunity to exchange on potential initiatives that could mark a turning point for road safety worldwide and encourage action from stakeholders.
