Flying Success: FIA Region IV and the Touring y Automóvil Club de Colombia Host Intensive Drone Training Programme for second year in a row
Participants from 10 different Latin American Clubs participated in the 5-day intensive Drone Training Programme, carried out with the support of the Drone and Vertical Mobility Academy.
In May, FIA Region IV and the Touring y Automóvil Club de Colombia held the second edition of their Drone Training Programme at the Autodromo de Tocancipá, Colombia.
The 40-hour intensive course saw participants learn about key topics, including road accident reconstruction, agricultural applications, and flight planning. The course mixed theory with hands-on experience, including an opportunity to try photogrammetry (the science of making accurate measurements from photographs).
The comprehensive programme aims to help more Club Members to gain a national drone pilot license – something which is essential for new business opportunities, community benefits, and wider mobility advancements.
Delegates from 10 Member Clubs across Latin America took part in the course:
- Automóvil Club de Costa Rica (ACCR)
- Touring y Automóvil Club del Perú (TACP)
- Automóvil Club del Ecuador (ANETA)
- Asociación Hondureña de Automovilismo Deportivo (AHAD)
- Automóvil Club de Colombia (ACC)
- Asociacion Automovilistica de Touring y Deportes de Panama (ASAI)
- Automóvil Club Boliviano (ACB)
