Collaborative Mobility "Opportunities for shared transport growing rapidly"
The Swiss Mobility Academy, a leading think tank on shared mobility established by the Touring Club of Switzerland, TCS, has been organising this congress for four consecutive years at various European locations. The main objective of this unique platform is to bring together organisations and individuals from the public and private sectors to share knowledge about collaborative mobility and innovative car-, ride- and bike-sharing initiatives.
The programme for this year's World Collaborative Mobility Congress comprised 70 international speakers offering stimulating presentations and topics for discussion over two days. Andrew McKellar, FIA Secretary General for Automobile Mobility and Tourism, extended his opening remarks to over 140 experts, attending the 2016 Congress, stating that:
“The growth of the shared economy is creating new opportunities for FIA Clubs to enhance competitiveness and develop new benefits for their members. To develop new models of collaborative mobility, FIA Clubs must look to engage with emerging service providers and continue to strongly advocate more diversified choices for consumers.”
On the first day, one of the sessions featured FIA Touring and Mobility Clubs and their experience in aggregating mobility services. The ADAC from Germany, the TCB from Belgium and the TCS from Switzerland talked about the impact of collaborative mobility on the vehicle ownership model and the benefits it brings to consumers.
After Switzerland, Austria and Poland, the support of ADAC is taking the next edition of Wocomoco to Munich, Germany, where various experts from the transport field will reunite and discuss newly emerging pathways in collaborative mobility.
