FIA Formula 3 Champion Daniel Juncadella tests Ferrari F60
Daniel Juncadella, the 20-year-old Spanish driver who earlier this year won the inaugural season of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship, has test-driven Ferrari’s 2009 F60 Formula 1 car. Completing six runs of the eight-lap Vallelunga circuit, Daniel’s fastest lap was 1m 18.560s on Pirelli’s soft tyres.
Speaking after today’s test, Daniel said: "It was incredible taking part in a Formula 1 test with Ferrari, it reallywas a dream come true. I had a lot of fun with the car, which is the main goal, and as far as I'm concerned I drove really well too. Can't wait to have another chance with a Formula 1!"
The FIA continues to encourage the development and the promotion of a clear path from karting to the highest categories of motorsport. In this regard the FIA enabled the top three drivers of the European Formula 3 Championship to test in a Formula 2 car. The second place driver also received the opportunity to test in a DTM touring car, and the winner a test run in a Ferrari F1.
