Preview of Round 2 at Nogaro

Summer will be kicked off on a week end of rejoicing heat and thrilling battles on the track, in Nogaro, Soutwhest of France, as the third round of the FIA ETRC is set to take place on Paul Armagnac circuit.

On the track, the young guard is taking the lead. Hungarian driver Norbert Kiss is currently leading the championship by one point, veteran driver Antonio Albacete ranking second. 2013 champion Jochen Hahn is falling short on points, being 18 points behing Kiss. But the German driver has always been particularly at ease on Paul Armagnac circuit, aand we should expect him to battle for big points this week end.

Also ranked on TOP 10, the young German drive Steffi Halm, from the French team Lion Truck Racing proves that woman can compete at the highest levels of truck racing, having won the French Truck Championship last year. Her impressive competitiveness in Italy and Spain conquered the heart of the public and settled spectacular memories of her yellow MAN going around the tracks.

On the French drivers’ side, Anthony Janiec, who won the Nogaro round two years ago, is now racing with the brand new Team Truckdrive-JRT. He will try to use his experience and knowledge of the track to renew his 2012 performance, while advising his teammate Ellen Lohr, the second woman of the entry list.

Finally, the Spanish Javier Mariezcurrena is almost a neighbour: coming from Navarro and having already won in Nogaro, he will try to repeat his past success.

On the manufacturer side, it will be necessary to keep an eye on the former MKR Renault Trucks, enrolled by teams 14 and VTR will target TOP 10 positions. Overall, the Nogaro round will feature 20 trucks from all over Europe, promising a tight battle on track due to comparable performance.
