The Environmental Accreditation Programme is an FIA-owned initiative, which aims to celebrate Member Club efforts to reduce their impact on the environment. Clubs can receive ratings between one and three stars.

The Automobile and Touring Club of Nigeria received one-star in recognition of its 'impressive environmental commitment' as 'evidenced all through the process since last year'.

Reviewers also noted that ATCN has established protocols to protect the environment around motorsport activities.

The ATCN can now work towards its next star rating. The Club has already planned to allocate resources, including an expert, to implement a formal environmental management system.
