FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The FIA Formula One World Championship calendar has been confirmed as follows:

FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

The French WRC event will be run in Corsica on 1 - 4 October 2015.

The Rallye du Valais will in turn replace the Tour de Corse on the 2015 FIA European Rally Championship calendar, and will take place on 31 October 2015.

Changes to the technical regulations have been adopted for 2015, which will be made available on FIA.com.

FIA WORLD ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP

To limit costs, the following changes have been made for 2015: 

  • New limitations will be enforced with regards to engines. LMP1 Hybrid competitors may homologate only one type of power train for the season. In this category, the number of engines will be limited to five per season and to seven for a manufacturer entering its first season in the Championship.
  • The number of team personnel authorized for entrants competing in the Manufacturer’s World Endurance Championship has been limited, with the conditions available online.
  • The number of testing days allowed for competitors entered in all categories has also been limited.

To improve safety, new regulations will be enforced with regards to the weight of drivers. If the average weight of drivers entered in a car is below 80 kilogrammes, ballasts will be imposed.

A single engine will be designated with the goal to universalize the 2017 LMP2 category.

The FIA Driver Categorisation Regulations have been amended. New criteria and procedures for the attribution of Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze driver status are available on FIA.com.

Further changes to the sporting and technical regulations of the FIA World Endurance Championship are available on FIA.com.

FIA WORLD RALLYCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP

To limit costs, the number of team personnel allowed for in the FIA World Rallycross Championship has been limited. Up to two cars entered by a team, a maximum of five engineering personnel and two non-engineering personnel passes will be allocated per car.

If a team enters a third car, it will be allocated a maximum of 4 extra engineering personnel passes. The teams will have to record activity occurring on the working areas of the paddock using cameras and make these cameras available to the stewards at their request.

Also to limit costs and to mitigate for the inability of certain manufacturers to homologate their products, the introduction of homologated ECUs in the FIA World Rallycross Championship has been delayed to 1 January 2016 at the earliest.

SINGLE-SEATER COMMISSION

The WMSC has approved the creation of a new FIA F2 Championship, aimed at bridging the gap between F3 and F1 and completing the single seater ladder. As a consequence, a detailed project will be submitted to the WMSC in July and a call for expression of interest is planned to be launched with regard to the promotion of this championship as soon as possible.

The WMSC agreed on carrying out of an FIA feasibility study for the holding of an FIA Formula 3 Middle East Cup in 2016.

Cars entered in FIA certified F4 Championships will be equipped with a mandatory Accident Data Recorder (ADR).

TOURING CAR COMMISSION 

The FIA European Touring Car Championship event scheduled for Salzburg (AUT) on 26 July 2015 is cancelled and replaced by Zolder (BEL) on 20 September 2015.

FIA FORMULA E CHAMPIONSHIP

With the addition of a Moscow ePrix and the change of date for the Berlin ePrix, the sporting calendar of the 2014-2015 season of the FIA Formula E Championship has been amended as follows:

  • 13 September 2014: Beijing (China)
  • 22 November 2014: Putrajaya (Malaysia)
  • 13 December 2014: Punta del Este (Uruguay)
  • 10 January 2015: Buenos Aires (Argentina)
  • 14 March 2015: Miami (USA)
  • 4 April 2015: Long Beach (USA)
  • 9 May 2015: Monte- Carlo (Monaco)
  • 23 May 2015: Berlin (Germany)
  • 6 June 2015: Moscow (Russia)
  • 27-28 June 2015: London (United Kingdom) 

The deadline for applications to compete in the 2015-2016 season of the FIA Formula E Championship has been set to 29 May 2015.

GT COMMISSION

The WMSC agreed on the creation of an FIA GT World Cup. The event will be held on 19-22 November 2015 in Macau and will be open to cars homologated in the GT3 category.

A series of changes to the sporting and technical regulations were made and will be made available on FIA.com.

HISTORIC MOTOR SPORT COMMISSION

Appendix K governing seatbelts has been modified so that competitors will retain the possibility to install harnesses with four mounting points (FIA standard 5584/98) when it is impossible to install harnesses with five or six mounting points (FIA standard 8853/98).

To improve safety and entertainment on track, the number of tyres allowed by car and by competition in the FIA Masters Historic Formula One Championship is increased from 4 to 8.

The use of data acquisition systems in the FIA Lurani Trophy for Formula Junior Cars has been prohibited.

OFF-ROAD COMMISSION

Changes made to the sporting and technical regulations of off-road competitions, including to engine and weight regulations for the Supercars, TouringCars and Super 1600 categories, are to be made available on FIA.com.

CLOSED ROAD COMMISSION

The Rally Safety Guidelines concerning the safety of spectators in rallies are now part of the FIA regulations for closed-road competitions under Appendix H.

MEDICAL COMMISSION

To improve the safety of the competitions of the FIA World Championships, a system of penalties with regard to compliance with the Medical Questionnaire requirements will be implemented on 1 January 2016.

APPLICATIONS FOR REGISTRATION FOR 2015 INTERNATIONAL SERIES

A list of 29 International Series, for the different disciplines presented by the ASNs, was approved by the WMSC, and will be made available on FIA.com

DRIFTING WORKING GROUP

The composition of the Drifting Working Group has been decided, with details of the group available on FIA.com.

ASN DEVELOPMENT TASK FORCE

The results of an internal ASN Development Task Force consultation on existing training programmes were presented to the WMSC. It has been decided to establish a global framework for the Global Training Programme to deliver consistent content by trainers accredited by the FIA to the motor sport community worldwide, including ASN leaders, officials and drivers at the national, regional and international levels. A report on a feasibility study on the creation of an FIA Training Center will be presented at the next WMSC in July.

FIA SPORT CONFERENCE 

The next FIA Sport Conference will be held on 8-10 July 2015 in Mexico City, hosted by OMDAI and FIA Vice President for Sport, José Abed.

For the first time, the Conference will be organised outside of Europe, and among other issues under discussion, will explore the success of motor sport in the Americas.

The next meeting of the WMSC will take place in Mexico City on 10 July 2015.
