Two more exciting races in the 2016 FIA European Truck Racing Championship played-out at the challenging Circuit Paul Armagnac, Nogaro today, with Norbert Kiss and Rene Reinert sharing the spoils.

The first race saw double FIA ETRC champion claim a famous victory for the new Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz truck in only its second ever event. Race two witnessed a thrilling battle between German friends and rivals Rene Reinert and Jochen Hahn.

With battles throughout the field in both of the races the French crowd went home happy after more quality trucking action on the picturesque 3.636kms circuit.

Race 1
Norbert Kiss converted his pole position to take a well-judged win in the first race of the Nogaro weekend this afternoon. Driving his new Tankpool24 Racing entered Mercedes-Benz, Kiss claimed a first win for his new team which he joined earlier this year.

The victory for Kiss gives the Hungarian hope of joining the challenge for the 2016 FIA ETRC title and ignite a potential three-way battle for the crown.

“I am really happy and it was very unexpected that we are so strong here in Nogaro," said Kiss. "The new truck I think is just awesome, not perfect, because there is always a little bit of room to improve but it seems pole position and victory is quite unbelievable today.

“I am thankful to the team, because we are doing a good job and improving every day and here we are again in first position and it is a very good feeling," concluded the delighted Hungarian.

With point’s leader Adam Lacko following home Kiss in second place, and Jochen Hahn securing third position, it means that Lacko slightly extends his lead in the table, over Hahn, to seven points.

At the start of the 12-lap race, pole sitter Norbert Kiss just held on to the lead despite a serious attempt by Adam Lacko to find a way through.

RACE 2
Rene Reinert scored another victory in the 2016 FIA European Truck Racing Championship season in the second race at Nogaro on Saturday evening. The German added the win to his Red Bull Ring victory at the end of April and consolidated his third placed position in the standings.

The reversed race two grid saw unaccustomed pole man Eduardo Rodrigues quickly swamped by the pack on the first lap, and the Portuguese racer emerged back in eighth position as the field crossed the line to start the second tour.

Grabbing the lead in a frantic opening to the race was Ellen Lohr in her Truck Sport Lutz Bernau MAN truck. The wily German led Rene Reinert, Jochen Hahn and Adam Lacko at the end of the first lap.

Soon Reinert was through in to the lead after a decisive move on Lohr. Reinert then put the hammer down to build a small gap to the chasing pack.
