The establishment of the first regional Road Safety Observatory in the Asia-Pacific region was announced in Stockholm today on the eve of the 3rd Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety. Yesterday, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential plc in Asia and Africa, and the Didier Drogba Foundation held a joint event today in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to promote road safety in the African region.

On 26 September, the Nepal Automobile’s Association (NASA), represented by NASA President Dasarath Risal, welcomed FIA President and UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt, together with World Bank Vice President for the South Asia Region, Hartwig Schafer, in Kathmandu.

Today, at the Italian Grand Prix, International Football Player and new #3500LIVES Campaign Ambassador Didier Drogba and FIA President Jean Todt were joined by Charles Leclerc, also Campaign Ambassador, and the other racing drivers of the Italian teams of the FIA Formula One World Championship to support the new “Watch out for Kids” rule with a family picture on the grid.
