Every day, 3,500 people die in road traffic crashes worldwide, including 500 children. Young people are particularly affected as road traffic crashes are the main cause of death of 15 to 29 year olds.

On 27 April, FIA President Jean Todt gave an introductory speech at the first Parisian Mobility Council, hosted by Mayor Hidalgo on the occasion of the Paris E-Prix and gathering all the major mobility stakeholders of the capital.

In his capacity as President of the FIA and UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, Jean Todt was invited to Madrid on 26 April for an audience with the King of Spain, Felipe VI.

On 11-12 April 2018, members of the International Transport Forum’s (ITF) Safer City Streets network gathered in Rome to discuss a broad agenda of international road safety priorities.
