In a day of high drama and excellent FIA European Truck Racing Championship action, Jochen Hahn and Sascha Lenz took a victory apiece in the opening two races of the 2018 season.
Under blazing sunshine and with a large crowd enjoying the action, Hahn took the title points lead while Lenz scored a memorable and well-deserved first FIA ETRC win.
Race One
Jochen Hahn swept to the first FIA European Truck Racing Championship win of the season at Misano this afternoon.
The four-time FIA ETRC champion delighted the home contingent of IVECO fans with a hard-fought win to take the chequered ahead of Antonio Albacete’s Trucksport Lutz Bernau truck.
However, the Spaniard was penalised 10-seconds for overspeeding and slipped to third in the overall classification after his penalty was applied.
This ensured that Adam Lacko (Buggyra International Racing System) and Norbert Kiss (Tankpool24) rounded out the podium after they engaged in a race long battle.

Race Two
Sascha Lenz took a long-awaited first ever career FIA European Truck Racing Championship victory in Race Two at Misano on Saturday evening.
The German converted pole position to head home Adam Lacko’s Buggyra International Racing System Freightliner by an impressive 4.7s and claim a hugely popular maiden win for himself and the SL Trucksport squad.
Lenz led from his reverse grid pole-position and defended from fellow front-row starter Jamie Anderson in to the first corner.
The British driver quickly found himself swamped by the chasing pack though and there was contact which triggered a chain-reaction including Antonio Albacete, Ryan Smith and several others.
