Le Mans 24 Hours: 168 drivers from 29 different countries
Each one will have a 3-driver line-up, and today the Automobile Club de l’Ouest is publishing the list of the 168 drivers entered for the 83rd running of the Sarthe classic, the third round of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship on 13-14 June. The international spread of the event pursues its expansion with drivers representing 29 different countries!
On 7th May, the deadline, the teams entered for the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours (13-14 June), had to send in the list of drivers who will relay one another at the wheel of the 56 cars at the start of the third round of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship. After the usual administrative checks we are now announcing the list.
The 168 drivers have licences issued in 29 different countries, three more than in 2014. France supplies the highest number (30) followed by Great Britain (28), America (18) and Germany (15).
In LMP1, however, the Germans have the edge (9) in front of the British (8), the Swiss and the French (6 each).
Taking into account the entries as a whole it is worth noting the large Russian (9), Swiss (8) and Danish (7) contingents.
Out of the 4 categories, LMP2 is the one in which there is the biggest mix of licence-holders with 17 different nationalities represented.
The list of entrants consists of 14 LMP1s, 19 LMP2s, 9 LMGTE Pros and 14 LMGTE Ams.
