FIA American Congress closes in Lima, Peru
Delegates from over 31 sport and mobility Clubs attended the event.

Delegates from North, South, and Central America and the Caribbean gathered in Lima, Peru for this year’s American Congress.
The three-day event brought together sport and mobility Clubs for discussions on a diverse range of subjects including creating value within the Member Club ecosystem, building strategic partnerships, and Motorsport in a Box, with the first box unveiled by Bahamas Motor Sports Assocation.
The FIA also hosted presentations from FIA Region III and IV Innovation Challenge Finalists, and a prize giving for the José Abed award. TACP received the prize, with Jorge Abed in attendance.
Delegates also made the most of social events, including a Welcome Cocktail, and an anniversary dinner to celebrate 100 years of TACP. Automóvil Club Argentino and Touring y Automovil Club Paraguayo also marked their anniversaries during the event.
During the week-long event, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem met with Mrs Dina Boluarte, the President of Peru and Mr Raúl Pérez-Reyes, the Minister for Transport and Communications, to discuss road safety, sustainability and the development of motor sport in the region.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “This week’s Conference represented a key opportunity to drive change and opportunity within the Americas. I was inspired to see the enthusiasm and engagement of our delegates, and I look forward to a number of projects and initiatives which were presented in Lima develop in the future.”
The final Regional Congress will be held in September in Cebu, the Phillipines.
