With five of the nine rounds in the 2019 European Historic Sporting Rally Championship season now complete the race to the category titles now hots up as the EHSRC heads to Finland for the Lahti Historic Rally on 8-10 August.

The no102 Key Sport Engineering Lancia Delta Integrale of ‘Lucky’ and Fabrizia Pons built on the solid lead they had after Day One of the Rally Weiz to secure victory on Round 5 of the 2019 FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship.

Round 5 of the 2019 FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship, the Rallye Weiz in Austria, got underway this afternoon with the competitors being challenged by the first six of the fourteen special stages.

The Austrian round of the 2019 FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship will be held against the beautiful backdrop of the Styian countryside, with fourteen special stages to challenge the skills of the competitors.

Round 5 of the 2019 FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship will be hosted by the Rallye Weiz in Austria, an event that is in its 11th year but is making its debut on the EHSRC calendar on the 18-20 July. A total of 28 EHSRC eligible entries across the four categories will be competing for top honours in Styria as the championship reaches the half way stage of the 2019 season.

The Rallye Weiz in Austria will be the host event for Round 5 of the 2019 European Historic Sporting Rally Championship and while this year is the 11th running of the event, it is the first time the Rallye Weiz has hosted a round of the EHSRC.

The 2019 European Historic Sporting Rally Championship season reaches the mid point with a new addition to the calendar, the Rally Weiz in Austria, on 19/20 July. With four rounds in Spain, the Czech Republic and Belgium completed, we look at the provisional championship positions in each of the four categories.

The all Italian team of ‘Lucky’ and Fabrizia Pons scored maximum championship points on Round 4 of the FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship, the Ypres Historic Rally, as the top EHSRC competitors on the rally. The category 4 no203 Lancia Delta Integrale finished second overall, finishing 1m 34.9 seconds behind the no219 BMW M3 of local drivers Bjorn Syx and Ari Vanrobaeys.

The no203 Key Sport Engineering Lancia Delta Integrale is the top EHSRC car on the opening day of the Ypres Historic Rally, Round 4 of the 2019 FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship. The Lancia of ‘Lucky’ and Fabrizia Pons ended the day with a total time of 18 minutes 52.5 seconds after complete the three special stages, the Italian crew 38.1 seconds behind the BMW M3 of Belgian crew Bjorn Stx and Ari Vanrobaeys.

This morning the teams taking part in the 28th Ypres Historic Rally, Round 4 of the FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship, presented their cars to scrutineering in Ypres for the pre event technical checks.
