Di Grassi fastest in second practice
23.05.15
Audi Sport ABT’s Lucas di Grassi topped the timesheets in the second practice session ahead of Nicolas Prost (e.dams-Renault) and Jaime Alguersuari (Virgin Racing).
All the drivers took to the track for the final time before the shootout for pole position later today.
Jean-Eric Vergne set the early pace clocking a 1:23.239s before home hero Nick Heidfeld lowered the benchmark by a further four-tenths of a second for Venturi.
However, it was di Grassi who came out on top after a flurry of fast laps from Prost and Alguersuari, who continued his strong form from first practice.
Dragon Racing’s Jerome D’Ambrosio posted a quick lap in the final minutes to end the session third fastest.
Andretti’s Scott Speed ended the session sixth ahead of Long Beach winner Nelson Piquet Jr (NEXTEV TCR) and e.dams-Renault’s Sebastien Buemi.
Qualifying gets underway at midday (local time).
