FIA Members the Automobile Association of Kenya (AA Kenya), the Australian Automobile Association (AAA), the Alberta Motor Association (CAA AMA) and the Touring y Automóvil Club de Colombia (ACC) won the FIA Innovation Challenge 2024 in their respective regions.

The four winners of the FIA Innovation Challenge 2024 were selected from an impressive pool of 44 innovative mobility projects.

Each winner represents the very best in mobility innovation within their respective regions.

With Safe to Load, FIA Region I Winner AA Kenya has adopted a comprehensive approach to address risk factors contributing to truck and tankers crashes relying on partnerships with corporations, inspections of vehicle’s conditions and training. Their project is not only improving road safety in Kenya, it is also offering a scalable BtoB solution to facilitate the implementation of higher safety standards.

FIA Region II Winner the AAA received recognition for its Real-World Testing Programme that highlights the variations between fuel consumption and emissions of a vehicle in real road conditions compared to its laboratory results. The programme provides users with unprecedented information, enabling them to make more informed choices, save money and better protect the planet.

With Hello Alberta!, FIA Region III Winner the CAA AMA works with settlement agencies to accompany newly arrived immigrants and help them with services such as a free one-year membership, two free driving courses, and support from Club ambassadors who speak their native languages. The programme fosters inclusion and a sense of belonging to the Albertan community, but also promotes the benefits offered by the Club’s membership.

The Smart Cities project of the FIA Region IV Winner the ACC provides technological support to local governments in Colombia to help them implement smart city solutions. The cutting-edge technologies promoted by the ACC include the use of drones and modelling tools for traffic monitoring and management. Through this project, ACC strengthened its position as a key advocate for changed and improved mobility solutions.

Launched this year, the FIA Innovation Challenge is an annual challenge celebrating innovative business and marketing-related projects from across the FIA Member Clubs’ network in the four FIA Mobility Regions.

By giving its Members a platform to showcase their best projects, the FIA aims to promote the transformative power of its community worldwide while fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration among its network.

The winners will be officially invited and awarded in December during the FIA General Assemblies week in Kigali, Rwanda.
