As part of the FIA’s ongoing commitment to advancing safe, sustainable, and accessible mobility across Latin America, FIA Secretary General for Automobile Mobility and Tourism Willem Groenewald, FIA Road Safety and Global Advocacy Director Stefano Ammirati, FIA Region IV President Ricardo Morales Rubio, FIA Region IV Executive Director Josefina de los Heros and FIA Region IV Mobility and Public Policy Manager Leandro Perillo attended a series of high-level meetings in Argentina aimed at deepening institutional partnerships, engaging with the private sector, supporting national road safety priorities, and reinforcing the role of the Automóvil Club Argentino (ACA).

Seven racing and rally drivers will become ambassadors for the world-leading FIA Smart Driving Challenge (FIA SDC). The FIA SDC is an AI-powered app which provides real-time tips, feedback and scoring to enable drivers to improve their safety and sustainability behind the wheel. Last year’s Smart Driving Challenge users reduced their fuel or battery usage by an average of 9%. The app is powered by technology from Swedish risk intelligence company, Greater Than.

Yesterday, the Safari Rally Kenya served as a powerful platform to promote the importance of the use of high-quality helmets for motorcycle riders.

- Amazon, BAT Italia, Folksam, Honda Motor Co., IKEA Supply Chain Operations, Scania, Shell, Uber, and Waymo received 3-star ratings, the highest possible level of achievement in the FIA Road Safety Index. - The companies join TotalEnergies, which has held its 3-star rating since July 2023. - The Index – enabling companies to measure and improve their road safety footprint – will introduce a 5-star rating system starting in 2026. - The new adopters were officially announced ahead of the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Marrakech, Morocco.
