This year, 215 Club Delegates from Europe, Africa and the Middle East gathered in Strasbourg, France, for the FIA Region I Spring Meeting at the kind invitation of Mobilité Club France and the Automobile Club de France from 30 May to 1 June.

The Touring and Automobile Club of Iran (TACI) has successfully revived the Silk Road with a caravan tourism rally to celebrate Nowruz, the Persian New Year, and promoted a message of peace and prosperity. This event brought together 28 RVs and towed caravans from all over Iran, which were welcomed by Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, all of whom share a common heritage and history.

FIA Region I is leading the MODALES awareness campaign to share low-emission driving tips and encourage professional and private car users to adopt good driving behaviours and maintenance practices.

On 22 March, FIA Region I and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) co-organised a dialogue on used vehicle trade between representatives of importing and exporting countries.

FIA Member Club the Automobile Club Association (ACA) is changing its name to Mobilité Club France in order to adapt to the evolving mobility landscape and remain as close as possible to its members’ needs.

On Friday 10 March, 10 FIA Club representatives attended a webinar on the European drone app developed by FIA Member Clubs Österreichischer Automobil- Motorrad - und Touring Club (ÖAMTC) and Touring Club Suisse (TCS) to support drone pilots in the field.

FIA Member Club the Koninklijke Nederlandse Toeristenbond (ANWB) has expanded its road patrol (‘Wegenwacht’) fleet with the fully electric Volkswagen ID.Buzz, thus becoming the first road patrol organisation to use the ID.Buzz as a roadside assistance vehicle.

FIA Member Club the Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF) and Motor tested the range and charging speed in winter weather of 29 electric cars available in Norway. The world’s largest winter electric car test, carried out for the fourth year. Maxus Euniq6 takes the overall top spot whilst the Tesla Model S Standard sets a new distance record of 530km. All car models showed a deviation from the official range because of the cold weather. NAF calls for an official European winter-WLTP (Worldwide harmonised Light vehicle Test Procedure) to better inform consumers

Hoy, la Región I de la FIA y sus miembros en Europa, Oriente Medio y África lanzan su nueva campaña, «Slowing Down Saves Lives» e instan a los conductores a respetar los límites de velocidad.
