The CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) 2023 Annual Meeting brought together industry leaders & experts from across Canada and the globe. The Annual Meeting, held in person in Ottawa, Canada’s capital, was loaded with inspiring and thought-provoking content that left attendees feeling energised and motivated.

In 2023, the FIA University Global Programmes will give FIA Members the opportunity to build capacity and benefit from the expertise of the faculty of two of the world’s top business schools.

With the support of the FIA Road Safety Grants Programme funded by the FIA Foundation, FIA Member the Nepal Automobiles’ Association (NASA Nepal) has recently completed a pioneering campaign called ‘Safe School Zone’ – a first-ever Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) campaign in Nepal – that allowed to improve safety in several school zones in the country.

The FIA Road Safety Index is a new index aiming to increase companies and organisations’ insights on the impact of their operations on road safety and to help them report on their ambitions, actions, and results. With the FIA Road Safety Index, organisations and companies can measure their safety footprint just like they do for their carbon footprint (total greenhouse gas emissions). The safety footprint can then be used as a basis for setting goals and formulating strategies and as a clear key figure to include in their sustainability report.

Led by FIA Region IV with the support of the Automóvil Club del Ecuador ANETA the "Seminar on Sustainable Mobility" was organised in the Galapagos and looked at new business models that are more respectful of the environment and that can help to reduce the mobility carbon footprint.

The City of Cordoba, the Region of Andalusia and the Real Automóvil Club de España (RACE) will host the 2023 FIA Conference and Extraordinary General Assembly from 20-22 June. The 2023 FIA Conference will focus on “Accelerating Change: Member-Driven, Knowledge-Led Transformation” and gather Delegates from FIA Member Organisations around the world. It will give the floor to the FIA Senior Leadership Team, FIA Club experts and international keynote speakers to address strategic topics for motor sport and mobility. A Bridgestone FIA ecoRally Cup challenge will be organised as part of the event.

FIA Region I is leading the MODALES awareness campaign to share low-emission driving tips and encourage professional and private car users to adopt good driving behaviours and maintenance practices.

FIA Member Clubs the Norges Automobil-Forbund (NAF) and the Automóvil Club del Ecuador (ANETA) have successfully renewed their FIA three-Star Environmental Accreditation for another two years.
