The weather was good for the final day of the Competition at Ampfing. The last Qualifying Heats on Sunday morning confirmed the trend without bringing any major upheavals. The Finals rewarded the two polemen, Paul Aron in OK-Junior and Hannes Janker in OK, even though the result of the latter category left a strange impression. The two winners scored their second wins of the season and took the opportunity to take the lead in the provisional standings of the Championships while a single Competition remains to be contested.

The third of the four Competitions of the CIK-FIA European Championship and the CIK-FIA European Junior Championship will be particularly important for the conquest of the titles. At the circuit of Ampfing (DEU) the hierarchy may take a major turn before the conclusion of the European campaign in early August in France.

The Kart Grand Prix of Great Britain reached its climax on Sunday, 20th May, 2018 on the circuit of PF International. During three days of good weather and intense competition, the best European Drivers were able to engage in a magnificent confrontation before concluding with two exciting final Races. The quality of the British hosting, a combination of conviviality and passion, added an extra touch to this second Competition of the CIK-FIA European Championships, dedicated to the OK and OK-Junior categories. Dilano Van T'Hoff of the Netherlands won the 12-14 age group while Hannes Janker of Germany won the Seniors event. The face of the Championships was significantly changed.

The new President of the FIA Karting, Felipe Massa, made a point of honouring the launch of the 2018 European Championships with his presence in Italy. During the two days he spent at the Sarno circuit, Felipe Massa had the opportunity to observe the progress of the Competition closely and to talk with many players in international Karting.

The CIK-FIA Championships are open to drivers from the age of 12, with no upper age limit. Three World Championships, four European Championships, one International Super Cup and one Academy Trophy in five categories will animate the eight meetings on the 2018 calendar held in six European countries from April to September.
