Kigali, Rwanda, served as a stunning backdrop for the 2024 FIA General Assemblies meeting starting following a welcome address by H.E. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem highlighted that this was the first FIA General Assemblies meeting taking place in Africa. 2024 FIA President’s Awards winners were announced. The FIA forecasts to complete its financial turnaround this year, with an operating result of € 2.2m — a remarkable improvement given that it stood at €-24.0m in 2021. The General Assemblies approved a 2025 balanced operating result budget of € 0.3m. FIA Members approved various amendments to the FIA Statutes aiming to enhance good governance. Today, Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, provided a spectacular backdrop for the 2024 Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) General Assemblies meeting, with His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, welcoming the delegates ahead of the meeting’s start.
