Today at the 2022 FIA Annual General Assembly in Bologna, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem delivered his report to Members after the first year of his Presidency.

Meetings of the Africa, Asia-Pacific and MENA regions held on the occasion of the FIA Annual General Assembly week in Bologna, Italy, have identified grassroots categories as a key driver in encouraging more people to take part in motor sport.

The FIA will create an e-library by digitising its archives which will be accessible to all in 2024. The e-library will preserve the Federation’s rich heritage and it will be a valuable resource for Motor Sport and Mobility history research and education. As part of the development phase, a beta version of the e-library has been launched today and is open to all FIA Member Clubs for feedback.

As part of the commitment to doubling motor sport participation worldwide, the prototype of a new Affordable Cross Car vehicle was revealed today at the ASN Forum. It is designed to bring motor sport to the masses in all the regions of the world.

The 2023 calendar for the FIA European Historic Rally Championship was approved by the FIA World Motor Sport Council in Bologna. The championship calendar will feature nine rounds, with Greece joining the championship with the Historic Acropolis Rally in November, adding a second gravel event to the schedule for the first time.

The World Motor Sport Council convened for the final time in 2022 at the Savoia Regency Hotel in Bologna as part of the FIA Annual General Assembly Week. The meeting was hosted by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem with FIA Deputy President for Sport Robert Reid, and WMSC members joining in person and via video conference.

The 2023 FIA World Rallycross Championship calendar has been announced, and to celebrate its tenth season World RX will visit Africa and Asia next year – as well as iconic European venues and featuring the return of some old favourites, including the fabled birthplace of the sport.

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile and Greater Than announced Thierry Benchetrit as the winner of the FIA Smart Driving Challenge (FIA SDC) Season 2022 following the final taking place in Bologna, Italy on the occasion of the FIA Annual General Assembly week.

The following FIA sporting calendars for 2023 have been approved by the World Motor Sport Council when it convened in Bologna today, Wednesday 7 December, or earlier during the year by e-vote.
