In the autumn of 1984, the LIAZ truck crew took on the famous Paris Dakar Rally. Since it was a historical event, this occasion could not be missed by UAMK and their Škoda Yeti assistance vehicle.

The 2015 crew of Moskal, Joklík and Fencl arrived at Rose Lake on January 22, placing a fantastic thirteenth position at the finish line from a field of 55 participating trucks. UAMK is proud that its president, Dr. Oldrich Vanicek, also undertook the journey starting in Prague and arriving in Dakar via Paris, Nador and Dakhla. 

This Czech expedition visited many nature reserves, parks and beautiful cities en route to Dakar. Once in Dakar, they  paid a visit to the Czech Embassy, the local school, an orphanage and even participated in the closing ceremony of the Africa Eco Race 2015, where Czech representative Tomas Tomecek with his Tatra truck arrived in third place. In light of these achievements, full blown celebrations were called for!
