Each year, the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards give public recognition to the most outstanding international road safety initiatives. Jean Todt, President of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, brought together the members of the FIA High Level Panel for Road Safety (HLP) in Paris on Monday 1 October.

Focusing on ‘Transport Safety and Security’, the 2018 edition of the Summit has been marked by a strong FIA presence advocating for safer roads at the highest level.

Today, over 35 road safety advisors and experts from the private sector, international organisations and NGOs gathered ahead of the International Transport Forum (ITF) 2018 Summit in Leipzig to discuss the FIA High Level Panel for Road Safety’s (HLP) work plan for 2018-19.

Today, the United Nations Road Safety Trust Fund was officially launched at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) welcomes the establishment of this Fund which will help increase political support and funding for global road safety.
