The race is on to host the FIA Motorsport Games 2026
While preparations are at full pace for FIA Motorsport Games 2024, work is already underway for the fourth edition of the event to be staged in 2026.
First held in 2019, the FIA Motorsport Games was created to unite nations from across the globe to compete to win gold, silver and bronze medals for their country across a myriad of motorsport disciplines and categories.
Applications to host the 2026 edition of the FIA Motorsport Games have already been received prior to the submission deadline. Whilst those applications are under review, interested parties have until 1 June to provide a letter of intent ahead of the final submission deadline on 31 August 2024.
The successfully selected host will follow in the impressive footsteps left by Rome and Circuit Vallelunga in 2019 and Marseille and Circuit Paul Ricard in 2022.
Since the inaugural edition, the FIA Motorsport Games has grown from staging six categories of competition and hosting 52 nations in Italy, to 16 categories and 72 nations in France.
The third iteration of the event scheduled for Valencia, Spain this October, 23-27 will bring more than 80 ASNs and an expected 800-1000 athletes to compete across 26 categories in Spain, setting yet another new benchmark.
“We began with a dream of creating a motorsport event where ASNs can assemble a national team and go and represent their country on the world stage,” event co-founder alongside the FIA, Stéphane Ratel said.
“The growth of the FIA Motorsport Games from Rome and Marseille was incredible and we will make another huge step with Valencia in October this year.
“Since the morning after the 2022 Games, we have been incredibly encouraged by the level of interest from nations across the globe interested in hosting this unique event.
“The first two editions of the event were held in Europe and Spain is on our schedule for this year, but our ambition is to expand the reach and take the FIA Motorsport Games to countries all over the world in the years ahead.”
