The three-day programme was tailored to meet the needs and strengthen the skills of Senior Executives from across the FIA’s global network of Member Clubs. It is part of the FIA’s wider efforts to foster learning and knowledge-sharing across the Federation.

In her welcome speech at the event, FIA CEO Natalie Robyn reflected on the impact that good leaders can have. Talking about her experience driving a transformation agenda within the FIA, she said: “In my perspective, the best leaders are the ones who create other leaders. That’s what I try to do – to create the strongest people around me.”

This year’s event focused on the ways that we can use neuroscience to improve and develop our understanding of leadership, with several dedicated sessions led by Professor Moran Cerf. Member Clubs’ Senior Executives attended a number of interactive sessions on the subject as well as a lesson on critical decision making, a guide to quantitative intuition, and a Leadership Jazz class, which showcased the similarity between a jazz band and a thriving organisation. Participants were also given the opportunity to tour Columbia’s iconic Manhattanville campus and network alongside their peers at a CBS dinner. 

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem celebrated the success of the programme. He stated: “The focus on neuroscience leadership will provide participants with an innovative and valuable way to approach and understand decision making.”
