RALLY LIEPĀJA 2019 UNPRECEDENTED, SAYS ORGANISER
Rally Liepāja will be bigger than ever before when FIA European Rally Championship heads to Latvia for a seventh time next May. Subject to FIA World Motor Sport Council approval, Rally Liepāja will host the ERC from 24-26 May albeit overly a significantly expanded route. Click for full story.
THRILLING FINALE: HADIK WINS NEW ERC RALLY, TAKES TITLE
Home crew András Hadik and Attila Deák had double reason for celebration at the finish of the Nyíregyháza Rally last Sunday. Not only did they win the event, which is set to join the FIA European Rally Championship in 2019 under its new name, Rally Hungary, they also claimed their first national title. KLAUSZ: NYÍREGYHÁZA STAGES WOULD SUIT ERC DRIVERS
ERC Junior Kristóf Klausz has stated the stages used on last weekend’s Nyíregyháza Rally would do the FIA European Rally Championship proud. Klausz has made 20 ERC starts since 2013 and has amassed experience of a number of European championship rounds during that time. Click for full story.
REMENNIK REVS UP FOR FIA EUROPEAN RALLY TROPHY BID
Sergei Remennik will fly the FIA European Rally Championship flag when he contests the FIA European Rally Trophy finale in Portugal this weekend. A winner in ERC2 this season, Remennik has qualified for the ERT showdown through his success in the FIA Baltic Rally Trophy, which he completed in equal first place. Click for full story.
EIGHT EVENTS ON PROVISIONAL 2019 ERC CALENDAR
Subject to FIA World Motor Sport Council approval on 5 December, the 2019 FIA European Rally Championship will feature eight events from March to November. Starting with the Azores Airlines Rallye (pictured) and concluding with the all-new Rally Hungary, the calendar features an equal split of asphalt and gravel events. Click for full story.
RIVAL WANTED LLARENA FIGHT IN ERC
Tom Kristensson has revealed his disappointment after he was unable to fight Efrén Llarena for the runner-up spot in the FIA ERC Junior Under 27 Championship. Swede Kristensson beat Llarena to the Pirelli-supported category victory on PZM Rally Poland in late September and was set to start the season-closing Rally Liepāja 14 points in front of his Spanish rival.
