WOMEN IN MOTORSPORT SUPPORTED RACER WINS IN SPAIN
Throughout the seven-round, 14-race season, Lucile has been pitted against 45 other racers in this single-make formula. Having topped FP2 earlier in the weekend, Lucile claimed sixth in qualifying and took ninth overall in the first of the two 14-lap Barcelona races. She was however the star of the show in the second race and ended a competitive season – in which she has taken one pole position and scored points in six races – taking the chequered flag, racking up her first win of the year in spectacular style. She finishes the 2015 SEAT Leon Eurocup in ninth position overall as well as claiming a commanding win in the Ladies Trophy.
“This is an incredible result by Lucile,” said Michèle Mouton, President of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission. “She has made a big improvement over the course of the season and as we know, when you can be the best in a one-make series, it really demonstrates some talent. Huge congratulations to Lucile, we have strong hopes for her and would like to help her reach a higher level within the sport.”
“I am really happy!” added Lucile. “I think I produced one of my best races and I’m very pleased about that. My team was able to give me a competitive car and I did not waste the opportunity. I’ve become the first girl to win a race of the SEAT Leon Eurocup and that is a source of great pride for me; I hope it won’t be the last time!”
