WEC - Rebellion Continues to Lead in Belgium after Final Free Practice
The third and final Free Practice session saw the fastest overall lap time dip below two minutes when Gustavo Menezes lapped the 7km Spa-Francorchamps circuit in 1m59.605 in no1 Rebellion Racing R13-Gibson.
The 60-minute session ended early after some damage to the track at T14 was causing a hazard and the Race Director declared a Red Flag to allow the circuit teams to repair the area.
The no7 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050 of Mike Conway was the second quickest car on a 2m00.043, just 0.046s ahead if the no8 Toyota.
Porsche led the way in the LMGTE category with the no92 911 RSR-19 of Michael Christensen nearly one second ahead of the two Ferraris, with the no51 AF Corse Ferrari just ahead of the sister no71 488 GTE.
LMP2 was headed by the no29 Racing Team Nederland Oreca, with Giedo Van Der Garde setting a 2m03.170, nearly half a second ahead of the no22 United Autosports and the no37 Cool Racing Orecas.
Ferrari led the way in LMGTE Am with the no83 AF Corse 488 out at the head of the 10-car entry with Nicklas Nielsen setting a 2m16.833, ahead of the no90 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage and the no88 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche.
Qualifying for the Total 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will take place at 18h00 today, with 20-minutes for LMGTE and 20-minutes for the LMP competitors.
