WEC, 6 hours of circuit of the Americas

The no1 Porsche 919 of Neel Jani and Nick Tandy secured pole position for the 6 Hours of Circuit of The Americas with an average lap of 1m44.741.  The Anglo-Swiss pairing had jumped to the top of the timing screens earlier in the session but Tandy’s lap was deleted for exceeding track limits at T19, dropping the no1 Porsche behind the two Toyotas.  Tandy went back out and secured the pole in the final lap of the session.

Porsche secured at 1-2 in Texas with the no2 919 hybrid of Timo Bernhard and Earl Bamber setting a 1m44.994, just two tenths adrift of their teammates.  The two Toyotas were 3rd and 4th fastest with the no8 TS050 the quicker of the two cars but still 1.6 seconds behind the lead car.
