WEC - 24 Hours of Le Mans Test Day Approaches
The entry list for the official Le Mans 24 Hours test day on Sunday 5th June has been released with the 32 full season entries for the FIA World Endurance Championship making up over half of the 60 cars that will take to the track tomorrow.
All the registered teams and drivers use the opportunity to re-familiarise themselves with the 14km track ahead of race week, and to start the work on the set up which they all hope will see them achieve success in the race on 18/19th June.
There are a few regulations which must be followed for the Test Day. Drivers who are new to Le Mans, or who have not competed over the past 5 consecutive years, must complete a minimum of 10 laps during the test day. Platinum-rated drivers are exempt from this regulation.
Teams can nominate up to 5 drivers on test day, and this year just three teams will run with an additional, fourth driver including Toyota Gazoo Racing which has nominated Alex Wurz as official reserve driver for both the No.5 and No.6 entries.
All the teams taking part in the race will have the chance to get out on the track for up to eight hours. The morning session will run from 9.00am to 1.00pm, with the day’s second session following on from 2.00 to 6.00pm.
