Using emerging technologies to enhance decision making, efficiency, and fairness in race control

Officials received training in the use of new technologies to combat race control challenges including human factor limitation and data overload.

Used correctly, artificial intelligence and machine learning provides the next step in efficient and clear decisions, with AI-assisted race incident detection and analysis, automated track limit enforcement, and predictive analytics for proactive decision making.

High-speed AI-driven video analysis supports improved incident review, with advanced dashboards that consolidate telemetry, GPS, video and team radio, streamlining real-time data integration and visualisation.

First educational event from new FIA Officials Department

2025 marks the launch of the new FIA Officials department which supports the recruitment of officiating talent, empowers Officials at a regional level, improves efficiency, and is a cohesive operational process.

This centralised approach, led by Matteo Perini, Sport Officials Manager, provides greater visibility and management, allowing the FIA to have a better understanding, improve recruitment and training, and provide tailored, vital support.
