The Passeig del Mar in Palamós hosted the starting ceremony of the XX Rally Costa Brava Històric by Motul, the regularity rally for historic vehicles that will be held until Sunday. With 132 team registered and the FIA Trophy for Historuc Regularity Rallies at stake, the event is presented as the most contested and interesting in recent years. The teams will face three long days, divided into 20 regularity sections and more than 1,000 kilometres of route, with the start and finish of each stage in Palamós.

FIA Member the Australian Automobile Association (AAA) has been joined by the Prime Minister of Australia to launch a programme designed to provide more accurate information to car buyers and help them save on fuel costs while improving the environment.

Over the seasons, the FIA Karting has strengthened its race control solutions to ensure greater sporting fairness. Some 35 cameras are now installed on and around the track, as well as in strategic locations such as the pre-grid and the technical area. While the drivers take to the track, several people work behind the scenes to view the cameras and examine any contentious actions, in constant contact with the race directors, stewards, timekeepers and all the other personnel involved. Joana De Sousa Falcão is one of these officials, and she has made her mark with her calm and serious approach.

Following the disqualification of two cars from the United States Grand Prix, the spotlight has been on the FIA’s post-race scrutineering procedures. During the analysis carried out by the FIA’s technical experts, Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes and Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari were found to have plank wear exceeding the limits imposed by the regulations, while the same checks carried out on two other cars found no breach of the regulations.
