The GT and Motorcycle Show in the centre of Macau has officially kicked off proceedings ahead of the 65th running of the Macau Grand Prix, which will take place at the famous Guia Circuit next weekend 15-18 November.

The stars and cars from this year’s FIA GT World Cup were joined by several of the main protagonists from the two-wheel category, as members from the Macau Grand Prix Organising Committee and the FIA officially opened the 2018 edition of the renowned street circuit event.

“We welcome you all to the 65th running of the Macau Grand Prix and would like to thank everyone involved,” said Alexis Tam, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture.

“This year we have over 150 racers, from 33 countries, and we all look forward to their amazing performances.”

Several GT3 cars were on display as members of the public were able to get up close and personal with some of the most stunning GT machinery in the world.

Thousands of fans will be enjoying the exhibition throughout the weekend, giving people of all ages the chance to soak up the Macau GP atmosphere.

The exhibition – which is free to enter for the public – includes prize giveaways, sim racing and a chance for the enthusiastic crowds to grab selfies with their favourite drivers or riders.

“This particular exhibition has been running since 2011 and we are delighted to welcome you here as the official opening to this fantastic event,” continued Tam.

“Families can enjoy the entertainment that’s available and you can even have your photo with your favourite racer - enjoy the show and we look forward to next week’s Macau Grand Prix.”

Anticipation ahead of the 65th Macau GP will continue throughout the week with a number of media activities, before practice commences on Thursday.

Four days of guaranteed thrilling action will conclude with the all-important final races to determine this year’s FIA F3 and GT World Cup Champions.
