LATEST WORLD COUNCIL DECISIONS REGARDING HILL CLIMB
A number of matters relating to Hill Climb were submitted to the FIA World Motor Sport Council for approval at its meeting on 19 March in Bahrain.
On the proposal of the Hill Climb Commission, in consultation with the Technical Department, a marking of the chassis of Category 2 cars will be carried out by the scrutineers operating on the 2022 FIA European Championship and FIA International Cup events. The initiative aims to allow a better traceability of the cars involved in Hill Climbing races. Frangible stickers will be applied to the cars and must not be removed by the competitors.
Article 4.2.17 of Appendix 6 to the Championship and Cup Sporting Regulations has been amended. Dealing with restrictor diameters, the article now allows an exception to the geometry set out in Technical Drawing 254-4 of Appendix J, for cars that can claim a different technical configuration approved by an ASN or the FIA for a given series or championship.

9 EVENTS IN THE 2022 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
The FIA European Hill Climb Championship calendar has been revalidated. Following the announcement of the cancellation of the Austrian event in Rechberg, the programme for the 2022 season is now based on nine competitions. The Championship will open in France on 9-10 April with the St Jean du Gard-Col St Pierre event. The European campaign will continue on 7-8 May in Portugal, at Braga-Falperra, and on 14-15 May in Spain, with the Subida Al Fito.
The cancellation of the Rechbergrennen in Austria has also affected the FIA Historic Hill Climb Championship, which has now been postponed until 28-29 May, when the Ecce Homo-Sternberk event takes place in the Czech Republic. The historic championship has also lost the event that traditionally closes the season, with Italy's Coppa Chianti Classico relinquishing its international status for 2022. The other two Italian events (Trento-Bondone and Cesana-Sestriere) remain on the season's programme, on their traditional early July dates.
