Following the 2017 FIA Annual General Assembly in December, two new organisations were welcomed to the FIA family.

In Region I, the Hellenic Research and Educational Institute "Panos Mylonas" for the Road Safety and the Prevention/Reduction of Traffic Accidents (RSI) joins the FIA as Associate Member.

RSI is a non-profit organisation founded on May 12, 2005 by University Institutions, private operators, auditors and individuals. The Institute aims to support and promote actions advancing road safety and traffic education, as well as study, research, information and education sectors, as well as initiatives targeting the prevention and reduction of traffic accidents.

Region II welcomes the Mongolian Motorcycle Automobile Sports Federation (MMASF). The Club, which has been engaged in rally and drifting championships, as well as road safety initiatives, joins the FIA as a dual competency Club, handling both sporting and automobile mobility and tourism duties.

The Club’s President, Mr Batkhuu Gavaa is a former Minister for Road and Transportation and is closely involved in the Club's road safety initiatives, including a recent seminar with the Mongolian Traffic Police, municipality, and health organisations, as well as working with the Transport Department on transporting hazardous goods across the country.
