FIA Outstanding Official of the Year awards open to ASN submissions
The most dedicated motor sport official will be honoured at the FIA Prize Giving
Since 2011, the FIA has honoured the most dedicated and exceptional officials in motor sport, with submissions accepted for the individual FIA Outstanding Official of the Year and seven additional FIA Best (…) of the Season awards in the following categories:
- Senior Official (Steward, Clerk of the Course)
- Scrutineer
- Marshals (2 awards)
- Other Officials (2 awards) such as: Secretary of the Meeting, Doctors, Paramedics, Fire Marshals, Timekeepers, etc.
- Team of Officials. This can be all Officials or a group of Officials of the same kind of a given competition (e.g.: all Officials or a group of scrutineers, track or road marshals, timekeepers, medical team, etc.).
The award for the FIA Outstanding Official of the Year pays tribute to exceptionally long and dedicated careers as officials in motor sport and will be invited to the FIA Prize Giving ceremony which this year takes place in Paris, to receive their award.
The seven FIA Best (…) of the Season prizes will be awarded to a team and individual candidates who will be assessed on the basis of their leadership competence, their performance and their personal integrity. Any difficulties they have overcome when performing their duties/mission will also be taken into account, as will the collective dynamic, where teams are concerned. The seven winners will receive their prize from their ASN.
Following the hugely successful inaugural FIA Volunteers Day earlier this year, ASNs are invited to submit their candidates for the various awards before 5 October 2017.
